“Never Forget” is a series of short articles that aim to free specific film, television, and video game characters from the eternal damnation that is pop-culture limbo.
Swift The Fox was a character on the Nickelodeon cartoon, The World of David the Gnome. Like his namesake, Swift was fast on his feet and continually provided transportation for David and his ungrateful diminutive brethren. David would constantly find himself in trouble with trolls and poachers only to call on Swift to bail his ass out at a moment’s notice. To make matters worse, David would usually use Swift’s ears as a makeshift steering wheel, reducing the majestic mammal to nothing more than David’s own private gnome car.
It is undocumented as to what happened to the under-appreciated fox when the final credits rolled, but one hopes he wised up, broke free, and feasted on the flesh of his thankless gnome master.
FACT: Seared gnome flesh is a well known Bavarian delicacy.

the real tragedy here is we learned bad habits from david – didn’t everyone treat their dog like swift? ridding them, pulling on their ears? i for one saved my dog from drowning (for real!). so hopefully that’s what david did.
I loved David and his adorable little wife. What a nice couple they were.
I also loved their little house in the tree. There is something special about Gnomes.
