Fred Penner

Fred Penner loved nature and singing so much that he would pack up his trusty guitar, put on his hiking boots, grab his backpack, and crawl through a log, no doubt fighting off millipedes and maggots, only to come out the other side and play kid songs.

What kind of a world did we live in that this activity could only be performed in the secrecy of the forest? Whether he was on the lam or just wanted some privacy, his songs captivated children of all ages. It’s this kind of wholesome, non-violent, fun-for-the-whole-family show that is missing in today’s society.

Unfortunately, Fred Penner was mistaken for a deer and killed in the Canadian wilderness in 1998. His body scored 207 gross B&C points and was expected to net about 200 for the lucky hunter.
